Most converter sites force you to create an account before converting. It's a growth hack, not a feature. AudioUtils skips all that. The converter works immediately.

Free users get 5 conversions per month without any account. Need more? Pro accounts exist but are never required for basic use.

Your privacy matters. No signup means no tracking profile tied to your conversions. No email list. No data to breach. Both MP4 and MP3 are lossy formats. Each re-encode can degrade quality slightly. Convert once and keep the result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose audio quality converting MP4 to MP3?

A small amount, yes — MP4 audio is usually AAC, and transcoding AAC to MP3 involves a lossy re-encode. At 192 kbps or higher, the loss is imperceptible for voice and most music. For archiving or editing, use MP4 to WAV instead to avoid any transcoding penalty.

What bitrate should I use?

192 kbps for spoken word, podcasts, interviews, and voice memos — clear audio, small files (~1.4 MB per minute). 256 kbps for music, YouTube audio, or video soundtracks — excellent quality. 320 kbps if you want the best possible result from the source. For voice recordings below 96 kbps in the original MP4, 128 kbps MP3 is sufficient — going higher doesn't add quality.

Does this work with screen recordings?

Yes. macOS screen recordings (Command+Shift+5), Windows Game Bar recordings (.mp4), and iPhone screen recordings shared out as MP4 all work. The tool extracts the microphone or system audio track and saves it as MP3.

What about Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet recordings?

Zoom saves recordings as .mp4 locally. Upload that file and extract the audio for transcription, podcast clips, or archiving. Teams and Meet recordings (usually downloaded from OneDrive or Google Drive as .mp4) work the same way.

Can I extract audio from YouTube downloads?

If you have an MP4 file saved on your device, yes. This tool processes files locally — it doesn't download from URLs or accept links. You need to have the MP4 file already on your computer or phone.

What happens to the video data?

The video track is discarded entirely. Only the audio is extracted and converted to MP3. Your original MP4 is untouched — the tool reads it but doesn't modify it. File size drops by 80–95% compared to the original video.

Is this converter free?

Yes. Free users get 5 conversions per month. The output is limited to the first 10 seconds as a preview, with a 20MB input file size limit. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited, full-length conversions.
